Power connectors generally consist of a plug and a socket, where the plug is also called a free end connector and the socket is also called a fixed connector. Through the plug, socket and insertion and separation to realize the connection and disconnection of the circuit, thus giving rise to a variety of plug and socket connection. This is a lot of operators understand, the following is mainly for the use of attention to the situation for analysis:

1, end connection

(1) power connector termination, should be strictly in accordance with the corresponding termination specifications or requirements for termination and inspection, and according to the corresponding contact number for termination. Selected cables, wires between the maximum thickness of the insulation layer should be matched with the distance between the contacts, cable cores and contacts to match the terminals, when spanning between the contacts, parallel lines, should take into account the diameter of the multi-stranded core stranding, and prohibit the contact crimp hole between the span, parallel processing;

(2) welding, according to the diameter of the bare wire should be selected according to the corresponding power of the soldering iron, each contact welding time is generally no more than 5s, should pay attention to generally no more than 5s, should pay attention to not let the solder penetrate into the insulator, so as not to cause the product insulation resistance drop;

(3) cleaning power connectors (including the cleaning of contact parts), you can use a silk cloth dipped in anhydrous ethanol, dry and use. Do not allow the use of chemical solvents such as acetone that have a harmful effect on the power connector;

(4) power connectors in the non-plugging state, must be covered with matching protective cover or take other dustproof measures.

2, check before plugging

(1) Power connector model, code, number, location and direction of the plug should be consistent with the design, process documentation requirements;

(2) The tail cover is not loose and the binding mouth is not off;

(3) The cable bundle or wire at the mouth of the tail cover is not folded or bent, and the outer skin is not damaged;

(4) No broken shielding skin grounding line, no loose weldments to the shell;

(5) power connector shell and butt port should be no deformation, no cracks, no thread wear, fasteners are not loose or defective, plating is not off;

(6) The locking device should be intact;

(7) Power connectors with sealing ring, the sealing ring should be intact;

(8) The interface (insulator surface, jack) is not allowed to have excess;

(9) The pins and jacks should not be skewed, deformed and other defects;

(10) The insulator surface at the root of the pin should not be ruptured or bulging and shedding of metal debris;

(11) pins and jacks should not be obvious retreat or protrusion phenomenon, compared with the same plane of normal pins, jacks, its exit or protruding distance should generally be no more than 0.5mm, otherwise you should check whether the pin or jack is assembled in place or retracted;

3, plugging operation

(1) before plugging, should confirm the plug to be plugged with the socket code, interface “shape”, interface “positioning keys and slots”, "positioning color coding, “Locking nails and slots”, “positioning screws and holes” whether the same correspondence, and accurate positioning;

(2) During the process of pushing or screwing in the power connector, the docking surfaces of the plug and socket should be aligned parallel to each other and the cable or wire should be corrected, and then the locking sleeve should be gently pushed or slowly screwed into place along the axial direction and locked. If it is found that the two docking surfaces are skewed, inaccurately positioned, feel tighter than normal exertion or obstruction and other abnormal sensations, the operation should be stopped, pulled out along the axial direction and the status of the inspection, in the event of troubleshooting, and then re-insertion. Allow the use of special aids for plugging and unplugging;

(3) When tightening the tail shield of the plug or socket, the tail shield outlet cable or wire cannot be rotated;

(4) When blind plugging, it is recommended to use light and visual function equipment (such as miniature camera or endoscope and monitor, etc.) to monitor the blind plugging process. In the absence of light and monitoring equipment for blind plugging operation, fingers should be used to feel the corresponding characteristics of the interface to be plugged, and then plugged into place and locked;

(5) In the locking operation, where it occurs or found that can not be locked properly, should be pulled out in a timely manner after checking, checking the correct and then according to the provisions of the plugging and locking;

(6) For thick and hard cable power connector, the cable should be fixed to prevent the cable from sagging, resulting in the power connector can not be pulled away and damage;

(7) power connector insertion and locking, should keep its tailcover outlet cable into a natural stretch state, the beginning of the cable bending should generally leave the tailcover outlet more than 30mm. In addition to other provisions, bending, the inner bending radius of the cable should generally be not less than 4 times the outer diameter of the cable;

(8) power connector insertion and extraction, should hold its body for insertion and removal, not allowed to grasp the tail cover outside the cable or wire operation.

4 、Testing

(1) in the cable or electronic equipment testing, the probe should meet the requirements, it is strictly prohibited to use a meter pen or copper wire directly for testing, to prevent the power connector jack poke or damage to the inner wall or the pin will be touched crooked;

(2) test cable and electronic equipment on the power connector plug test before, should first check the test cable on the power connector (plugs and sockets), where there is damage to the shape of the damage, pins (holes) corrosion, pin distortion, deformation of the jacks, dust contamination, wire breakage, shielding skin broken wire can not be plugged;

(3) The test process of power connector plugging and unplugging operations, generally should be carried out after disconnecting the power supply static for not less than 3min, prohibit electrified plug and unplug;

(4) in the model, the product electrical performance test is completed, if the power connector is not separated for a long time, should be according to the requirements of the design and process documents, the power connector playing insurance, playing insurance can not loosen the power connector locking device.

5, storage

Power connectors should be stored in -10 ~ +40 ℃, relative humidity is not greater than 80%, no acid, alkali and other corrosive gases around the environment.
